Simpsons Exec Producer Interview on Banksy
I have to say I really don’t see this as one bit subversive. It’s clearly approved by Fox, and generating more PR than critique. Furthermore, the Simpsons have always made fun of Fox. It’s a pretty broad and obvious critique that’s too hyperbolic to have any real teeth.
I place it as a nice opening that brings to mind earlier episodes taking aim at animation and studios, like when they delve into the Itchy and Scratchy machine.
All in all I guess the opening ultimately makes me think higher of the Simpsons and less of Banksy.
